Auctioneer Historics will debut Bicester Heritage for its Autumn sale, on the 24th of September. Some 180 fine and varied classics make up the enticing entry, coinciding with the September Assembly from the site’s own membership club, Scramblers: Supercars & Poster Cars.

The Scramblers Supercars & Poster Cars Assembly will bring together supercar exotica and those models that found fame in print through the years. The eclectic, free-to-attend cars and coffee morning will be the perfect preamble.

Born from the success of the site’s public Scramble events, Scramblers hosts exclusive members-only gatherings on the final weekend of each month. These gatherings, or Scramblers ‘Assemblies’ celebrate a variety of themes, with Supercars scheduled in for the September event.

Automotive design engineer and Historics’ client, Dave Eaton will be adding his bespoke road-registered ICON 917K to the Scramblers assembly, a reverse-engineered, authentic homage to the legendary Le Mans-winning short-tail Porsche 917.

Dave’s childhood passion – shared by engine-build wizard John Hartland – was to build from scratch a road-registered Porsche 917 replica. It came to fruition in 2020 after eight years of amazing skill and passion, during which Dave auctioned his Alfa Romeo Montreal and Lamborghini Countach at Historics to help fund the cost of the build.

Scramblers recently launched membership tiers, named Pegasus and Merlin, to give members access to a range of perks that are exclusive to Bicester Heritage and several of its Specialist businesses. The club exists to celebrate the historic motoring sector and the magic in the driving and preservation of classic cars, while making these experiences open and accessible for future generations.

Normally accessible by appointment only, Bicester Heritage sits on the larger Bicester Motion site, the best-preserved WW2 RAF Bomber Station in the country. The quarter is home to 45 industry-leading Specialist workshops that the Bicester Heritage hub for historic motoring enterprise is renowned for.

Historics’ owner, Mark Perkins, commented: “We are continuously exploring potential new venues that can support our mantra of delivering the very best auction experience. Consequently, we are absolutely delighted to be holding our major public sale of some 180 fine and varied classics on Saturday, 24th September at bustling Bicester Heritage, preceded by three full viewing days, and tying in with Scramblers really adds to the occasion."

See www.historics.co.uk for full auction details and registration to bid at the venue, online and by phone.

Philip White, Associate Director, Brand and Marketing adds: “We always enjoy Scramblers, and their families alike, enjoying the best of what the unique Bicester site has to offer. We are sure that the September sale will be a great success for Historics and wish them a warm welcome here on-site.”
