The Maroc Challenge returns to Morocco in December to celebrate one of the most widely anticipated editions of all time, after the long interruption due to the pandemic. With little more than two months to go, the main outlines of the event that will be held from December 2 to 9 have already been drawn.
The Winter 2022 first stage will begin on December 4, in Midelt, in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, continuing on till the 9th, when it will end in Saïdia, on the Mediterranean coast.
The aim is for this reunion edition to be an absolute success and to ensure that goal the Maroc Challenge organisation has been working with ambition, hope and impetus. It will be a unique edition, which will alternate classic Maroc landscapes with new ones that allow participants to fully enjoy the adventure, driving and spirit that has epitomised this event in its previous 18 editions.
Boarding will begin in Almería on the night of December 2, and the technical checks will take place before boarding the ship. After the night crossing and disembarking in the port of Nador, a link has been traced to Midelt, in the middle of the Atlas range. This will be a day of relative calm to take care of all the final details.
The event will follow a linear route, starting out from Midelt towards Erfoud, then on to Zagora where we will spend two nights before returning to Erfoud on the 7th. Though long awaited, don't expect this will be an easy edition, since the dunes of Erg Chebbi, Ouzina and Chegaga await, though with routes adapted to each category, of course. Before reaching Saïdia, there will be a penultimate stage in Tendrara, where the already traditional camp will be set up and where the participants may, once again, meet up and mingle.
