80 classic, sports and collector cars participated in the 36th edition of La Carrera Panamericana, the historic competition that originated in the 1950s and is now a tradition and a benchmark in international motor racing.

 
The Ultimate Road Race, as it is also known, is a race against time, where past, present and future converge.

 
This year, the imposing machines traveled more than 3,600 kilometers through Mexican territory, starting from the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, in Boca del Río, Veracruz, to the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Oriental.

 
On the route that advanced through the states of Veracruz, Oaxaca, Mexico City, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, San Luis Potosí and Nuevo León, the pilots and copilots enjoyed spectacular landscapes, the vast diversity of ecosystems, as well as the cultural and architectural richness that enhance the beauty of Mexico.

 
For seven days, the crews put their skills and abilities to the test, pushing their 500 horsepower engines to the limit with enviable mastery, to set the best possible time in each of the timed speed stages.

 
Every day the national and foreign teams, some of them coming from Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Spain, United States, France, Italy, United Kingdom, and Sweden, lived a festive atmosphere full of applause and joy from the motorsports fans who came to the finish line arches in each city.

Once again, La Carrera Panamericana transcended borders and reached more than 89 countries through daily live broadcasts from the start and departure of the vehicles early in the day, and in the afternoon with the arrival at the finish line arches.

 
This year's edition was also notable for the participation of great motorsports figures, such as pilot and actor Patrick Dempsey, who participated in the first two stages of the race in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, special edition Legends of the Panamerican Race; Jo Ramirez, the legendary Formula 1 driver; retired Mexican driver Adrian Fernandez, who is considered a legend on the IndyCar tracks; and Luis "Chapulín" Díaz, who this year served as Grand Marshal.

From now on, La Carrera Panamericana prepares new surprises and participations for the 2024 edition to be held from October 11 to 17.
